Rotary District 9213 and DFCU Group Launch 3-Year Partnership with Medical Camp in Mbuya
According to District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, the partnership symbolizes Rotary’s continued commitment to serving humanity and advancing preventive health care.

Rotary District 9213, in partnership with DFCU Group, officially launched a three-year community health initiative with a successful medical camp held at St. Paul’s Church, Mbuya. The event marked the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services for underserved communities across Uganda.
According to District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, the partnership symbolizes Rotary’s continued commitment to serving humanity and advancing preventive health care.
“We launched the Rotary D9213 and DFCU Group partnership with a medical camp that begins a three-year journey of hope. These camps will be conducted every April and October until 2028,” he stated.
A Day of Service and Hope
The inaugural medical camp on Wednesday 8 October 2025, brought together hundreds of residents from Mbuya I and Mbuya II, as well as neighboring communities, who received free medical consultations, laboratory tests, dental services, blood pressure checks, HIV testing and counseling, as well as general health education.
Throughout the day, medical workers, nurses, laboratory personnel, and Village Health Teams (VHTs) worked tirelessly to ensure that each patient received quality care. The initiative was supported by Reach Out Mbuya, which generously provided the venue, as well as local leaders who mobilized community members to attend.
District Governor Kitakule extended heartfelt appreciation to all partners and volunteers for their dedication and teamwork.
“We thank the medical workers, nurses, lab personnel, Rotary members, DFCU Bank, Village Health Teams, and local leaders that made this event possible. Special thanks to Reach Out Mbuya for providing us with the venue,” he remarked.
Promoting Preventive Health
Health experts at the camp emphasized the importance of regular medical checkups as a key to early detection and management of diseases. Residents were encouraged to embrace a proactive approach to personal health and make use of available healthcare services in their communities.
A Sustainable Impact
The Rotary D9213–DFCU partnership will continue to host biannual medical camps in various districts across the region until 2028, providing essential health services, promoting health education, and strengthening community well-being.
Through this collaboration, Rotary District 9213 and DFCU Group aim to not only extend medical relief but also inspire communities to adopt healthy living practices and build resilience.
“This initiative is about hope, compassion, and sustainable service. Together with DFCU, we are reaffirming our commitment to touching lives and making a difference—one community at a time,” said Governor Kitakule.
