Why This Congress Matters for Africa’s Future

Access to clean water and sanitation remains a critical challenge in many African countries, affecting health, education, and economic development. According to reports, millions of Africans still lack safe drinking water and proper sanitation facilities, leading to waterborne diseases and other public health concerns.

By bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts, the 22nd AfWASA International Congress and Exhibition will contribute to shaping policies and strategies that will accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6): Clean Water and Sanitation for All.

As Uganda prepares to host this landmark event, the AfWASA International Congress and Exhibition 2025 presents a golden opportunity for African nations to come together, share experiences, and develop concrete solutions for securing a sustainable water and sanitation future. With NWSC at the helm, the event is expected to drive critical discussions, strengthen regional partnerships, and pave the way for transformative policies that will benefit millions across the continent.

This congress is not just a meeting of experts—it is a platform to shape Africa’s future in water security, public health, and sustainable development.
