Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia Honored by Indian Community in Uganda for Business Excellence
Renowned businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia has been recognized by the Indian community in Uganda for his outstanding business achievements and contributions to job creation.
The award was presented during a high profile business forum held at Golf Course Hotel in Kampala, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to discuss business growth and economic transformation in Uganda.
The event was organized by leaders of the Indian business community in Uganda, in collaboration with key stakeholders from the private sector.
The forum, held under the theme "Fostering Investment and Economic Growth Through Business Partnerships," aimed to strengthen economic ties between Indian entrepreneurs and Uganda while exploring opportunities for sustainable development.
Hon. Evelyn Anite, the Minister of State for Investment and Privatization, presided over the ceremony and commended Dr. Sudhir and the Indian community for their dedication to Uganda’s economic development.
She highlighted the importance of foreign investment in job creation and praised Indian investors for reinvesting in Uganda instead of repatriating profits, as happens in some other countries.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Sudhir expressed deep appreciation for the honor, noting that such recognition is a significant achievement.
He acknowledged the Indian business community’s historic role in Uganda’s economic landscape and emphasized the need for continuous investment and innovation.
Beyond celebrating business success, the forum also provided a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and policy discussions aimed at improving the business environment in Uganda.
Dr. Sudhir also took the opportunity to extend his condolences on the passing of the late Aga Khan, offering heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends.
The event concluded with renewed commitments from business leaders and policymakers to foster investment, create employment, and drive economic growth in Uganda.
