Fred Bamwesigye Elected Chairman of Federation of Uganda Employers Governing Council
With Fred Bamwesigye at the helm, the Federation is expected to continue advocating for policies that promote a favorable working environment, enhance industrial relations, and drive Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

The Director General of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), Mr. Fred Bamwesigye, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE). His election took place during the 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Federation, where he was appointed unopposed.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Bamwesigye acknowledged the trust and confidence shown by FUE members and pledged to advocate for the interests of employers in Uganda. "I deeply appreciate the trust shown by members of the 46th Federation of Uganda Employers AGM, where I was appointed unopposed. I am looking forward to championing employers’ voices," he stated.
As FUE embarks on a new journey, the newly elected leadership is committed to strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders. The goal is to develop a robust business community that offers access to new markets, promotes innovation, and builds professional networks to help businesses thrive in the evolving labor market.
The new leadership team includes Fred Bamwesigye as Chairperson and Ms. Sebuliba Mona,
the Managing Director of Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) Development Finance, as Vice-Chairperson. The duo is expected to work closely with various partners to enhance the economic and employment landscape in Uganda.
FUE also took the opportunity to appreciate the outgoing Governing Council, which was led by Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha,
the Managing Director of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), as Chairperson, and Ms. Annet Nakawunde as Vice-Chairperson. Their tenure was marked by significant contributions to the federation, and they were commended for their efforts in steering FUE towards greater achievements.
The Federation wished the outgoing leadership success in their future endeavors and expressed optimism about the new team’s ability to continue driving employer-related policies and programs for the benefit of the business community in Uganda.
