Constituency Development Initiatives

Covid-19 Relief Efforts:

In June 2021, during the second lockdown prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic, Hon. Kamara took swift action to mitigate the adverse effects of the pandemic on vulnerable communities in Kabale Municipality. He donated tonnes of posho and other relief items, ensuring that households faced with economic hardships had access to essential food supplies. This timely intervention helped alleviate some of the suffering faced by families who were severely impacted by the restrictions and economic downturn.

Rodney Fund for Health Workers:

In July 2021, Hon. Dr. Kamara launched the Rodney Fund, a charitable initiative aimed at supporting medical professionals in Kabale Regional Referral Hospital and surrounding health facilities.

The fund provides assistance to health workers who fall ill while serving in their critical roles. This initiative demonstrates Dr. Kamara’s commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of healthcare personnel who often work under challenging conditions to save lives.

Maize Seedlings Distribution:

To encourage food security and boost agricultural productivity in Kabale Municipality, Hon. Kamara distributed tonnes of maize seedlings to his constituents over three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023). This initiative provided local farmers with high-quality seeds, ensuring better crop yields and fostering sustainable agricultural practices in the region.

Ultrasound Scan Donation:

In a bid to improve healthcare services, Hon. Dr. Kamara made significant contributions to health facilities by donating ultrasound machines to Kamukira HC IV, Kirigime HC III, Rugarama Hospital, and Rushoroza Hospital. These donations significantly enhanced the capacity of these institutions to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, thus improving healthcare access for the people of Kabale. 

Wealth Creation Through Piglet Distribution: 

In 2021, Hon. Kamara launched a wealth creation project aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of families and groups within Kabale. By distributing over 300 piglets to local residents, he provided the foundation for sustainable income generation through pig farming. This project has the potential to uplift families economically by creating a steady source of income and promoting local agricultural practices.

As a representative of Kabale Municipality, Hon. Dr. Kamara has demonstrated unwavering dedication to the needs of his people by actively engaging in national and regional decision-making processes.

National Parliamentary Task Force on Covid-19:

In 2021, Dr. Kamara served on the National Parliamentary Task Force Committee, which oversaw the implementation of Covid-19 response measures in the Western region. His involvement in this task force allowed him to advocate for the region’s needs, ensuring that the people of Kabale received the necessary support during the crisis.

Parliamentary Health and Climate Change Committees:

Hon. Dr. Kamara sits on both the Parliamentary Health Committee and the Committee on Climate Change. In December 2021, Dr. Kamara hosted the Uganda Volleyball Federation Championship in Kabale Municipality, bringing together players and fans from across the country. This event not only boosted the local economy through increased tourism and commerce but also provided an opportunity for young athletes to showcase their talent on a national platform.

Team Kamara Football Club:

In an effort to promote sports at the grassroots level, Dr. Kamara founded Team Kamara Football Club, which participates in the Kabale Corporate League. Through this initiative, he has encouraged the youth to engage in sports and develop their talents, while also fostering a sense of community and healthy competition.

Hon. Kamara Cup Football Tournament:

In 2022, Dr. Kamara organized the Hon. Kamara Cup, a football tournament aimed at fostering unity and promoting sportsmanship within the community.
