The draw, presided over by Isaac Ajiji, the Trade, Marketing, Brand, and Sponsorship Manager at Stanbic Bank, mapped out the path to this season’s final, with the first legs scheduled for early May and return legs two weeks later.

Semi-Final Fixtures:

Venue: MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo

Match 62: Vipers SC vs Kitara FC

The return legs are slated for the 17th and 18th of May 2025 respectively.

KCCA FC Not Taking Kataka FC Lightly

Interim KCCA FC Head Coach Jackson Kaddu Magera has warned his side against complacency when they face Big League side Kataka FC from Mbale. Despite KCCA FC’s rich history in the competition, having already lifted the Uganda Cup 10 times, Magera insists they must remain fully focused.

"We have to stay focused and win though it won't be easy," said Magera, adding that they will not underestimate Kataka FC, who have proven themselves as true dark horses in the competition.

KCCA FC are eyeing an 11th Uganda Cup crown, which would further solidify their dominance in Ugandan football history.

Kataka FC Dreaming of Historic Upset

Toldo Godfrey Awachango, the Head Coach of Kataka FC,

has promised to pull off a shock result against KCCA FC over the two-legged encounter. Awachango, a former goalkeeper for Kataka FC, has fond memories of reaching the quarterfinals and now aims to take his team even further.

Despite having never lifted the Uganda Cup, Kataka FC have won many hearts with their spirited performances this season and are dreaming of a fairy-tale finish.

Vipers SC Seek to Halt Kitara FC’s Defending Campaign

In the other semi-final, Vipers SC will battle defending champions Kitara FC in what promises to be a thrilling heavyweight clash. Vipers SC, three-time Uganda Cup winners, are eager to reclaim the title but must overcome a resurgent Kitara FC side under the stewardship of Coach Wasswa Bbosa.

Bbosa, no stranger to Uganda Cup success, boasts an impressive record, having won the title as a player with Mbale Heroes (1999), Express FC (2003), URA FC (2005), and again in 2008 with Victors FC where he also doubled as a player-coach.

"We have to beat the best in order to be the best," Bbosa stated, expressing confidence that his side has what it takes to defend their title.

Kitara FC President, Deo Kasozi Akiiki, also exuded confidence, boldly declaring, "We will beat Vipers," shortly after the draw. The Hoima-based club, fresh from their maiden Uganda Cup triumph last season, is determined to maintain their rising dominance in domestic football.

A Tournament Full of Drama and Dreams

With only four teams left standing, the Stanbic Uganda Cup 2024/25 semi-finals promise drama, upsets, and football of the highest level. As the country looks forward to the first-leg matches, fans can expect fireworks as underdogs battle giants and champions fight to retain their crowns.

The stage is set. Will experience prevail, or will the dreams of the underdogs reshape history? Ugandan football enthusiasts will soon find out.
