Museveni, Obua Call for Consolidation of Peace and Economic Gains in Nebbi and Zombo
Addressing supporters in both districts, President Museveni highlighted the visible transformation that has taken root in the region, citing improved road infrastructure, access to education, better healthcare, enhanced agricultural productivity, and increased energy supply for production and value addition as outcomes of deliberate planning and sustained efforts by the NRM government.
H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Chairperson and presidential flag bearer, on Saturday emphasized the ruling party’s legacy of peace, development, and wealth creation across Northern Uganda, calling on the people of Nebbi and Zombo districts to safeguard the achievements realized under the NRM government ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Addressing supporters in both districts, President Museveni highlighted the visible transformation that has taken root in the region, citing improved road infrastructure, access to education, better healthcare, enhanced agricultural productivity, and increased energy supply for production and value addition as outcomes of deliberate planning and sustained efforts by the NRM government.
“These are not accidental achievements. They are a result of the NRM’s long-term vision and consistent implementation of policies aimed at uplifting every Ugandan from poverty to prosperity,” the President remarked.
Accompanying the President was the NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda and Government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, who hailed Museveni’s transformative leadership, describing him as a dependable and visionary leader committed to improving livelihoods through various wealth creation programs.
“There is no candidate more reliable and dependable than the one who has made history by introducing wealth creation projects aimed at transforming every household into a money-generating economy,” Hon. Obua said, adding that the lasting peace and stability enjoyed in West Nile and the greater Northern Uganda region are a direct result of President Museveni’s leadership.
Hon. Obua also echoed the First Lady, Maama Janet Museveni’s message of peace, unity, and non-violence, urging the people of Nebbi and Zombo to shun divisive politics and remain united behind the NRM as it continues to consolidate peace and foster economic transformation.
“The NRM remains the only party with a proven track record of turning words into action — from restoring peace to promoting socio-economic development,” Obua emphasized.
The rallies in Nebbi and Zombo were part of President Museveni’s ongoing campaign tour of the West Nile sub-region, where he continues to rally Ugandans to embrace the NRM’s message of peace, unity, and wealth creation for all.
