National Quran Competition Celebrates Young Talent, Success Motors Awards Grand Winners with Brand-New Cars
The Iraji Foundation, in collaboration with Biggie Events, have hosted a prestigious National Quran Competition on Sunday, celebrating the Quranic recitation skills of young Muslims across Uganda.
The event, aimed at promoting Quranic understanding and fostering unity within the Muslim community, saw top performers crowned in the Half Quran and Full Quran categories.
In the Boys’ Half Quran category, Lugemwa Imran claimed victory with an impressive 98% score, while Nankinga Shamirah won the Girls’ category with 92%. For the Full Quran recitations, Suhail Adam emerged as the overall Boys’ winner with 97.1%, followed by Osman Zaidi (96.85%) and Ukasha Ssemogerere (96%). Nankinga Shamirah also topped the Girls’ Full Quran category with a 92% score.
The grand winners, Suhail Adam and Nankinga Shamirah, were each awarded a brand new car by Success Motors, fulfilling their commitment to supporting religious development among Uganda’s youth.
Isaac Barunda, Manager of Success Motors, has of recent emphasized the company’s dedication to nurturing young talent, stating, “We are proud to reward these exceptional young Muslims and encourage deeper engagement with the Quran.”
Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the event’s special guest, commended the Iraji Foundation for its unwavering efforts in promoting Islamic values.
“This competition proves the Quran’s central role in our faith. It is our collective responsibility to nurture our children in Islamic values from an early age,” she said, pledging continued support for the event to become an annual tradition.
Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, Titular Head of Uganda’s Muslim Community and Chief Guest, praised the Iraji Foundation and Biggie Events for organizing a successful and impactful competition. He also acknowledged the teachers for their role in grooming young reciters to compete at a national level.
The Iraji Foundation expressed gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and attendees, reaffirming its mission to promote Quranic education and unity within the Muslim community. The event concluded on a high note, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
