Rubaga South Residents Disown Fake Petition, Declare Full Support for Hon. Mukasa
Reports of a petition against Hon. Aloysius Mukasa’s endorsement as the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Rubaga South have been firmly rejected by constituents, who insist they never sanctioned such a move.
Community leaders, youth representatives, and market associations across Rubaga South have spoken out, saying the so-called petition is the work of a few individuals pursuing personal ambitions and not the will of the people.
“This petition is a fabrication. We, the people of Rubaga South, did not sign it, we did not request it, and we do not support it,” said a group of local leaders in Katwe and Najjanankumbi.
“Hon. Mukasa has been accessible, supportive, and consistent in standing with us since day one. We want him back no one else.”
Constituents further described the allegations of bribery and poor parliamentary performance as baseless.
They cited Hon. Mukasa’s visible contributions, including youth skilling initiatives, community welfare programs, and his active presence on the ground, which have kept him in close touch with the needs of ordinary citizens.
Residents stressed that the attempt to discredit their MP is nothing more than political scheming by rivals who lack grassroots support.
“We know our leaders, and we know opportunists when we see them. Rubaga South is not for sale. We are standing with Hon. Mukasa because he has stood with us,” one resident in Kabowa remarked.
As NUP prepares for the ticket allocation process, the majority in Rubaga South have appealed to the party leadership not to be swayed by false petitions but to recognize the overwhelming support Hon. Mukasa enjoys in the constituency.
“Our message is clear, Rubaga South has only one choice Hon. Aloysius Mukasa. We will defend his seat, and we will deliver him back to Parliament,” the constituents declared.
