NUP President in Dilemma as Rubaga South Church Pushes Inexperienced and Uncredible Aspirant to Get Party Ticket

Insider reports have raised concerns over an aspiring NUP candidate for Rubaga South, who is allegedly attempting to influence the party after vetting process through external pressure and undue inducements.
Sources indicate the candidate has approached the Catholic Church in Rubaga, tasking it to pressure Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the NUP party president, including sending private letters to the him urging favoritism, and is reportedly seeking to sway the vetting committee.
Constituents and local observers note that the aspirant has no visible record of meaningful engagement in the constituency.
Over the years, residents have rarely seen the candidate actively involved in community initiatives or development programs, highlighting a significant absence of presence and impact.
This stands in stark contrast to the incumbent, Hon. Aloysius Mukasa, whose five year tenure has been characterized by consistent efforts to support Rubaga South residents.
The incumbent, Mukasa, has worked closely with institutions, including the Catholic Church, to implement programs that address community needs, earning the trust and respect of the constituency until today.
Political analysts say that attempts to leverage influence or incentives, rather than building a credible track record of service, by the aspiring alleged candidate undermines both the democratic process and the aspirant’s legitimacy.
However, Rubaga South voters should be reminded of the importance of proven leadership and tangible contributions to community development when considering party representation.
