Rubaga South to Shake the Nation as Bobi Wine Kicks Off 2026 Journey with Hon. Mukasa
Rubaga South is preparing for a landmark political event as Hon. Aloysius Mukasa, the area’s Member of Parliament, sets the stage to host National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine.
The visit is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, immediately after Kyagulanyi’s nomination for the presidency by the Electoral Commission in Lweza.
Following the nomination, Kyagulanyi will first address a rally in Katwe before proceeding to Nateete, Rubaga South, where thousands are expected to attend. According to Hon. Mukasa, anticipation among residents is unprecedented.
“There is great excitement across Rubaga South,” Mukasa told journalists. “Residents are eager to welcome Hon. Kyagulanyi, and many have already confirmed their participation. We are fully prepared to host him.”
A strong mobilization committee has been established to coordinate logistics, security, and welfare, ensuring the event proceeds smoothly. Leaders in the constituency say the rally represents more than a routine gathering it is viewed as the official launch of the 2026 campaign trail and a powerful show of solidarity within the NUP.
In his remarks, Hon. Mukasa urged security agencies to respect the rights of citizens to assemble peacefully.
“We call upon the police and all security organs not to disrupt this event. The people’s right to free expression must be upheld,” he said. “The 2026 journey for change begins here in Rubaga South, and the will of the people cannot be intimidated.”
Local leaders and residents have described Kyagulanyi’s visit as a reaffirmation of Rubaga South’s status as a NUP stronghold.
The constituency has played a central role in the party’s growth, and supporters believe this rally will further strengthen unity and momentum ahead of the 2026 elections.
Already, preparations are underway, with streets in Nateete decorated in NUP colors as residents organize to give Kyagulanyi a memorable reception.
Concluding his address, Hon. Mukasa assured constituents that all arrangements are in place.
