In his acceptance speech, Difee thanked God for the new responsibility, saying leadership comes from God and that he was humbled by the trust placed in him.
“I am grateful for the confidence you have shown in me. I am not the best among you, but I will do my best to serve. I am the youngest among you, so I ask for your guidance as we work together for the good of our party,” he said.
Difee pledged to promote unity and teamwork among NRM leaders in the district and promised to lobby for development programmes that would benefit party leaders and communities.
Difee has urged his fellow party leaders to actively mobilize locals to vote for NRM party candidates in the upcoming village-level Local Council 1 (LC1) elections.
He also announced plans to convene another meeting involving former chairpersons who lost their elections to review the accountability of the chairpersons’ SACCO, dissolve the current arrangement, and establish a new SACCO that will accommodate only the current leaders.
The newly elected chairperson further pledged to organize meetings in every sub-county and support them through facilitation, including meals and transport refunds, to strengthen cooperation among leaders.
Godfrey Wandoba, the newly elected Finance Secretary from Bukyabi Sub-county, commended Difee for organizing the meeting and described it as timely.
He pledged to work closely with the chairperson to lobby for members and improve their livelihoods.
Sironko Town Council Mayor Dison Balayo also praised Difee for bringing leaders together, saying strong leadership requires clear direction and unity.
Meanwhile, Kassim Massa, the NRM Chairperson for Busulani Sub-county, thanked Difee for using his personal resources to unite party leaders.
“After elections, many leaders are often forgotten, but this initiative has renewed our hope. We believe our SACCO will be revived and become stronger,” Massa said.
Shaban Kachimete, the PLU Coordinator for Sironko, noted that when i arrived here, one chairman told me that we had left them behind, but i assure you all that everything is okay. I thank him for organizing our strategic direction and guiding us on how we should move forward.
"Chairman Difee is helping us, as chairpersons, to carry on what we call a self-discovery mission, aimed at strengthening our leadership and improving our service to the people." he added.
