Hon. Denis Hamson Obua Rallies Support in Ajuri County, Urges Communities to “Protect the Gains”

The NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda and Government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, on Tuesday intensified his mobilisation drive across Ajuri County, with successive gatherings in the villages of Adagani, Adaloro, Adwong, and Akokowo. Large crowds turned up to hear his message, reaffirming the strong support the ruling party continues to enjoy in the region.

Addressing enthusiastic supporters, Hon. Obua reiterated the National Resistance Movement’s central theme of “protecting the gains”, a phrase that has become the rallying call of the NRM as Uganda approaches a new political season. He noted that the peace and stability enjoyed nationwide today are not accidental, but the result of decades of consistent leadership and deliberate policy choices.

Hon. Obua emphasized that Northern Uganda has particularly benefitted from the restoration of peace, allowing communities to rebuild after years of conflict. He reminded residents that peace remains the foundation upon which all other progress is built, including socio-economic transformation and improved service delivery.

“Where there is peace, development follows,” he said, urging residents to remain vigilant and united in safeguarding the achievements made over the years under the NRM government.

The Government Chief Whip encouraged the people of Ajuri County to continue taking advantage of government poverty-alleviation initiatives, especially the Parish Development Model (PDM) and EMYOOGA.

He noted that these programs are designed to stimulate household income, enhance productivity, and empower communities at the grassroots.

Hon. Obua highlighted success stories of families and groups already benefiting from these interventions, saying:

“These programs are changing lives. Households that once struggled are now engaging in meaningful economic activities. We must continue embracing them so that no family is left behind.”

In his message, Hon. Obua stressed the importance of unity, hard work, and collective responsibility as Ajuri County positions itself for future development. He underscored that progress becomes sustainable only when communities move forward with a shared vision.

He encouraged residents to maintain the spirit of cooperation, remain focused on development, and work hand in hand with their leaders to unlock further opportunities for socio-economic advancement.

As the mobilisation tour continues, Hon. Obua’s engagements are expected to strengthen grassroots support for the NRM while reinforcing the importance of consolidating past achievements. His message of “protecting the gains” resonates strongly in Ajuri County, where the impact of government-led development programs is visible in many sectors.

The Ajuri County community, inspired by his call to action, expressed readiness to rally behind initiatives that promote peace, wealth creation, and improved livelihoods.
