John Kenny Adeya: The Young Media Entrepreneur Behind Kampala Edge Times

When you meet John Kenny Adeya it's not hard to miss the quiet confidence of some one who has walked through triumphs and struggles and at just 25 years of age he already has a track record of running one of Uganda's independent online platform know as Kampala Edge Times.

It's important to note that John Kenny was not born in Media privilege but born in the late 1990's and raised by his mother at young age under the guidance of his father Dr. Hannington Ochieng whose discipline and resilience left a lasting mark on him.

Over the years John Kenny has hosted and featured a number of notable personalities on his platforms's YouTube channel and has seen appearances from Michela Amato crowned miss little Global 2024, celebrated actress Hellena Lukoma, Deception star Stella Nante and Ugandan Model Herman Michelle Nekesa and beyond all this, his work also has spotlighted other influential figures such as Julie Mutesasira's children whose performance on Canada's Got talent went viral as well as Canary Mugume and youth leader Humphrey Nabimanya 

" I started the platform out of pure passion and wanted to create something that was youth friendly, fresh and could highlight stories that were not always getting space in Mainstream Media, John Kenny Adeya said.

"Over the years I have kept facing challenges like being hacked, handling endless technical glitches with little or no funding, John Kenny added.

John Kenny Adeya is a proffessional journalist studied journalism and communication at YMCA comprehensive institute and developed strong passion for writing and strong telling and his passion shaped his path and led him to start his own media platform the Kampala Edge Times which has been running for 4 years and fully registered with Uganda registration services bureau.
