Lt Gen James Mugira Commissions Key Development Projects at Luwero Industries in Nakasongola
During a guided tour of the facilities, Lt Gen Mugira expressed his satisfaction with the progress made at Luwero Industries.

The Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), Lt Gen James Mugira, has today commissioned a series of completed infrastructure projects at Luwero Industries Ltd,
a subsidiary of NEC, located in Nakasongola District. The milestone marks a significant step forward in the corporation’s commitment to modernization, self-reliance, and economic development.
The commissioning event was attended by top officials from NEC, including Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the General Manager of Luwero Industries, along with senior officers, staff members, and invited guests.
During a guided tour of the facilities, Lt Gen Mugira expressed his satisfaction with the progress made at Luwero Industries. The commissioned projects represent a major boost in infrastructure, energy sustainability, security, and staff welfare. Among the key projects inaugurated were:
Staff Residences – Providing quality accommodation to improve the welfare and productivity of employees. Solar Power
Backup System – Enhancing energy sustainability and ensuring uninterrupted operations.
Kiira Motors Staff Quarters – Strengthening Uganda’s industrial capacity by supporting local vehicle manufacturing.
Parking Yard & Main Gate – Improving security and accessibility to the facility.
Football Pitch –
Promoting sports and recreational activities for employees.
Gate Barricades for Access Control & Staff Daily Attendance Management – Enhancing security and workplace efficiency.
Fuel Dispenser Facility Management – Streamlining fuel supply operations within the industrial complex.
100-Metric Ton Weighbridge – Facilitating accurate measurement of raw materials and finished products.
Shredder & Machine Shop Roofing – Expanding manufacturing capabilities.
Control Room – Strengthening operational oversight.
Luwero Industries Café – Providing a convenient space for staff relaxation and refreshment.
In his remarks, Lt Gen Mugira lauded the management and staff of Luwero Industries for their teamwork, commitment, and relentless efforts in advancing the corporation’s mission. He noted that every visit to Luwero Industries reveals remarkable growth, with new infrastructure and systems enhancing productivity.
