Former Bantamweight National Champion and East/Central African (ABU) Regional Champion Abdul Ssebute has signed a three-year management agreement with Albion Boxing Academy Cambridge and Nara Promotionz in a move aimed at elevating his professional boxing career in the United Kingdom.

The agreement will see the new management team take charge of Ssebute’s training, career planning and promotional strategy as he seeks to break into more competitive fight cards across the UK boxing scene. The deal provides him access to modern training facilities, experienced trainers and structured career guidance — elements widely regarded as critical for success in Britain’s highly competitive professional boxing landscape.

Structured Pathway to the UK Scene

Under the arrangement, Albion Boxing Academy Cambridge will oversee Ssebute’s day-to-day training and conditioning, while Nara Promotionz will play a key role in promotional coordination and linking him to potential opportunities both in the UK and internationally.

The management team is expected to actively pursue slots on reputable UK fight cards, positioning Ssebute for higher-profile bouts that could significantly raise his profile and rankings.

For Ssebute, the partnership represents more than a contract — it is a long-awaited breakthrough.

“I am happy that my prayers are being answered by finally getting a proper team to promote my boxing career,” he said. “Without a proper management team, it is very difficult to progress in the business of professional boxing in the UK.”

Balancing the Ring and Responsibility

Beyond the boxing ring, Ssebute currently works as a chef at Hobson Hotel Cambridge, a role he has balanced alongside his training commitments. His employer has expressed willingness to support and sponsor him during fight nights — a significant boost as he prepares to intensify his professional campaign.

Ssebute expressed gratitude to the hotel management for their flexibility and encouragement, noting that such backing allows him to pursue his sporting ambitions without compromising his livelihood.

Confidence from the Management Team

Gary Davidson Jnr, a former boxer now part of the Albion Boxing Academy Cambridge management structure, said the team was impressed by Ssebute’s discipline, humility and natural talent. Trainer Tony Petchell echoed the sentiment, describing the Ugandan fighter as hardworking, focused and determined to succeed.

“We see potential in him,” members of the team indicated, pointing to his regional championship pedigree and strong work ethic as solid foundations for growth in the UK professional ranks.

Representing Nara Promotionz at the signing were Director Lubowa Babu Hussein and Secretary Edirisa Kiyemba, both of whom reaffirmed their full support for the partnership. They emphasized that the deal aligns with their broader mission of promoting Ugandan boxing talent on international platforms.

A New Chapter for a Ugandan Champion

Ssebute’s career already carries notable achievements, including national and regional titles. However, breaking into the UK’s competitive professional circuit requires strategic management, consistent exposure and strong promotional backing — gaps that this three-year agreement seeks to address.

The United Kingdom remains one of the world’s most vibrant boxing markets, offering fighters significant visibility and access to global audiences. With structured training, experienced mentorship and sponsorship support, Ssebute now appears positioned to make a renewed push toward higher-level competition.

For the Ugandan boxer, this marks the beginning of a defining chapter — one that could see him transition from regional acclaim to broader international recognition if the momentum is sustained.

As preparations begin under his new management, attention will now turn to his upcoming fights and how quickly he can establish himself on the UK professional boxing stage.
