Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Rallies Ugandans to Take Charge of Democracy: “Update Your Voter Register Now!”

KAMPALA, Uganda — With the 2025/2026 elections on the horizon, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, Senior Presidential Advisor and head of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), is passionately urging Ugandans to seize the moment and update their voter registration details.

The nationwide drive, launched on January, 20th by the Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon in Kamwokya II, Kampala, runs daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., including weekends, until February, 10th. Parish update stations have been set up to make the process accessible for everyone.

“This isn’t just a formality it’s your power, your voice, and your chance to shape the future of Uganda,” Namyalo declared on Monday at a press briefing held at ONC offices in Kyambogo.

The exercise includes updating registers for Special Interest Groups such as youth, persons with disabilities, and older persons, ensuring inclusivity in the electoral process.

Calling mass participation a “cornerstone of democracy,” Namyalo described the update as crucial for achieving free and fair elections. She promised regular updates from the ONC as the exercise continues.

With just 21 days to make a difference, Namyalo’s message is clear: take action now to ensure your voice counts in the upcoming polls.
