Museveni Rallies Namisindwa Residents to Embrace Wealth Creation and Support NRM’s Vision for 2026–2031
Speaking to the enthusiastic crowd, President Museveni reminded the people of Namisindwa that the NRM’s work is visible and deeply rooted in improving livelihoods through peace, infrastructure, and empowerment programs. He explained that while development projects such as roads, schools, and hospitals are essential, true progress can only be achieved when individuals and families take advantage of these opportunities to create personal wealth.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday continued his nationwide campaign trail with a major stop in Namisindwa District, where he addressed thousands of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters and local leaders. Accompanied by senior NRM officials, the President used the occasion to reinforce his long-standing message on wealth creation, household income transformation, and the Movement’s commitment to social service delivery.
“Since the 1960s, we have been teaching that development and wealth are not the same,” the President said. “You can have development, but only a few benefit unless people use the opportunities to create wealth. That is why we send funds through Entandikwa, NAADS, OWC, PDM, Emyooga, the Youth and Women Funds — to help households join the money economy.”
The President emphasized that government initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga are deliberately designed to help rural families transition from subsistence to commercial production. He assured the people of Namisindwa that his administration would continue — and even increase — financial support to these empowerment programs to ensure that every Ugandan household participates in the money economy.
In addition to economic empowerment, President Museveni reaffirmed his government’s commitment to free education at all levels, highlighting it as a critical step toward eradicating poverty and ensuring equal opportunities for all Ugandan children. He reiterated the NRM’s pledge to ensure that every parish has a primary school and every sub-county has a Health Centre III, as part of the broader strategy to make essential services accessible to all citizens.
“Education and health are not privileges; they are rights,” the President said. “That is why we are pushing for free education and expanding health infrastructure so that no Ugandan child or mother is left behind.”
Local leaders in Namisindwa commended the President for his consistent focus on transforming rural communities through practical programs. They cited ongoing infrastructural improvements, including road construction and electricity extension, as tangible proof of the NRM government’s commitment to the region’s development.
The Namisindwa campaign rally formed part of President Museveni’s wider mobilization drive in the Bugisu sub-region, where he has been meeting residents, NRM leaders, and local entrepreneurs to discuss progress under the NRM Manifesto 2021–2026 and to outline the Movement’s vision for the next term (2026–2031).
As the campaign trail continues, the President’s message remains clear — peace, infrastructure, and wealth creation are the pillars that will sustain Uganda’s transformation journey under the NRM.
