Hajati Hanifar Karadi Vows to Revolutionize Kawempe North as She Launches Bid for MP Seat

Hajati Hanifar Karadi has officially expressed her interest in contesting for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat in the upcoming by-election to replace the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya.
Speaking during a consultative meeting organized by the Electoral Commission at Tick Hotel, Kawempe, Karadi urged voters to actively participate in the electoral process and adhere to the Commission’s guidelines.
The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders including mayors, LC1 chairpersons, Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), and other leaders, focused on voter registration and electoral preparation ahead of the by-election, which is scheduled to take place on 13th March 2025.
Karadi emphasized the importance of transparency and participation across all 197 polling stations in Kawempe, urging residents to update their details in the voters’ register to ensure they can cast their votes.
In her address, Hajati Hanifar Karadi highlighted her vision for Kawempe North, promising to build on the foundation laid by the late Hon. Ssegirinya. She outlined her priorities, with a strong focus on improving sanitation and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
“Kawempe deserves a leader who will continue to champion development and transform the community,” Karadi stated. “I am committed to addressing the sanitation challenges that have plagued our area and ensuring our youth have meaningful employment opportunities.”
The Kawempe North seat fell vacant following the death of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, who had been a vocal advocate for the community.
