Parents Appreciate Dr. Sudhir for Settling Teachers' Sit down Strike at Kampala Parents School.
This week, a meeting held between Ruparelia Group Chairman, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, the management, teachers and the parents association of Kampala Parents School has resolved the impasse that led to a sit-down strike, with agreements reached on key issues.
The strike, which began on Friday, was sparked by teachers’ demands , an alleged end to illegal salary deductions, .
According to a letter sent to parents, the teachers have agreed to return to class on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, after Dr. Sudhir addressed their grievances amicably by himself.
The meeting, resulted in a number of key agreements, including enhanced salaries for teachers starting January 2025. In addition that the school has agreed to stop making illegal salary deductions.
Teachers who participated in the strike will not face suspension or sacking, a win for the teachers.
Furthermore, staff members will be allowed to educate one of their children at the school for a reduced fee of 700,000 Ugandan shillings.
The teachers’ representatives expressed gratitude to the parents for their understanding and support during the strike.
Dr. Sudhir also ordered the management of the school to always treat the teachers issues as a priority.
Parents have praised the city tycoon for his proactive involvement in sorting the impasse which has opened doors for a conducive learning environment as learners wind up the third term.
