NRM Prepares for Landmark 2025 Party Conferences and Elections
According to the official announcement issued on August 4, 2025, the meetings and conferences will span across nine days, commencing with the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting and culminating in the Elective National Conference.

The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has officially released the schedule and composition of delegates for the much-anticipated 2025 NRM Party Meetings and National Conferences. These crucial gatherings, which play a vital role in shaping the party's leadership and policy direction, will take place between August 20 and August 28, 2025.

Accreditation for the NEC Meeting, SIGs Conferences, and the National Conference will be conducted at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology, located on Plot 9-21 Portbell Road, Nakawa. The Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds will host both the SIGs Conferences and the National Conference.
The party has meticulously outlined the categories of participants eligible to attend each tier of the meetings.
1. Delegates to the Elective National Conference
These include high-ranking party officials, elected leaders, party representatives at all levels, and select observers:
National Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons (including regional and female representation)
NRM Members of Parliament and EALA representatives
NRM MP flag bearers and District/City Chairpersons
NRM diaspora branch executives and Special Organs’ national and local leaders
District/City Council members and sub-county leaders
20 individuals personally invited by the National Chairman as observers
2. Delegates to the National Executive Council (NEC)
The NEC will be comprised of:
National Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons
NRM MPs and EALA members
Flag bearers and elected local government leaders
Diaspora branch chairpersons and Special Organs’ executive members
30 representatives from the NRM Historical Leaders Forum
Up to 10 eminent persons nominated by the Chairperson and approved by the Council
Five special invitees as observers
3. Delegates to the Special Organs (SIGs) Conferences
These are specialized conferences for various interest groups within the party structure:
NRM MPs representing Youth, Women, PWDs, Workers, and Older Persons
National and district-level executives of each Special Organ
SIGs councilors at city, municipal, and sub-county levels
Sub-county/Municipal Division/Town Council SIG Chairpersons
To ensure transparency and smooth coordination, the NRM will display the lists of all bona fide delegates at all district headquarters and the Party Headquarters on Plot 10 Kyadondo Road, Nakasero – Kampala. These lists will be available at least one week prior to the commencement of the meetings.
These party meetings and elective conferences are expected to:
Elect or confirm leadership within various party structures
Deliberate on the party's policy direction ahead of the 2026 General Elections
Strengthen internal party cohesion and reorganize the grassroots and special interest groups
