Victoria University Introduces Laptop Loan Scheme with its Blended Learning Model
Victoria University has taken a bold step into the future by officially scrapping traditional, ordinary teaching methods in favor of a fully digital learning model.

The university also unveiled a new laptop loan scheme that will enable students to acquire personal computers and pay in installments over a three-year period a move aimed at making digital education more inclusive and accessible.
The major announcements were made on Wednesday by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Muganga, during the official launch of Pastor Wilson Bugembe’s upcoming 20-year music journey concert.
The concert, slated for August 8 at the Kampala Serena Hotel, will celebrate two decades of Bugembe’s impactful gospel music ministry under Worship House Ministries.
Prof. Muganga emphasized that the university’s shift to digital learning is not just a reaction to global trends but a strategic decision to empower learners with the tools and knowledge needed for the future.
He noted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play a central role in the university’s new approach to teaching and learning.
“We are abandoning the old ways of education. At Victoria University, students will no longer be confined to chalk and talk methods. We are embracing a digital learning model powered by AI, giving students access to a global classroom right here in Uganda,” said Prof. Muganga.
To further support this transformation, the university has introduced a flexible laptop financing project.
Through this program, students can access laptops immediately and pay back over three years, removing a major financial barrier to participating in the digital education ecosystem.
The event also shone a spotlight on Pastor Wilson Bugembe, whose life story and music have inspired millions across Uganda and beyond. Prof. Muganga praised Bugembe as a symbol of hope and resilience qualities that resonate deeply with the university’s mission to raise transformational leaders.
Bugembe’s upcoming concert promises to be a powerful celebration of his spiritual and musical journey, and Victoria University’s involvement underscores its commitment to supporting positive change makers in all fields of society.
As the university pushes the boundaries of education in Uganda, it is clear that Victoria University is not just teaching students to adapt to the future it is preparing them to lead it.
