Kyadondo Secondary School Matugga has officially kicked off the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, joining thousands of schools across the country in a process overseen by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
Speaking to members of the press on Monday after the first paper, the Head Teacher, Hajji Waligo Ismail, said this year’s examination season has attracted a record number of candidates, reflecting the growing confidence parents and the community have in the school’s performance and discipline.
“We are proud of our students and thankful to parents for trusting us with their children. The increased number of candidates this year shows the confidence people have in our school’s reputation and academic standards,” Hajji Waligo noted.
He applauded UNEB for setting examinations that are well balanced and aligned with the learners’ competence levels, emphasizing that the papers so far have been fair and reflective of what students were prepared to tackle.
Hajji Waligo reaffirmed the school’s commitment to maintaining discipline, transparency, and adherence to UNEB guidelines, assuring stakeholders that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.
Nationwide, UNEB has urged all examination centers to uphold the security and integrity of the exams, stressing that fairness and credibility remain central to this year’s assessment exercise.
The 2025 UCE examinations mark a key milestone in Uganda’s education calendar, testing the competence of learners under the evolving curriculum framework.
