Makindye honourable councilors box each other, over turn tables in ruling house at Buziga country resort kampala over disagreement in the voting style to be used for the new committee.

The session chaired by the speakers Hon. Luba Lwanga Charles on Wednesday intended at two reasons.

One, the swearing in of the newly elected woman councilor Nasolo Resty representing the people of Bukasa "B" , in replacement of the deceased Kansiime Ritah, secondly the voting for the new committee that consists of business committee, executive committee and standing committee, the same committee also includes the chairperson and the members meant to serve for year term in office.

Minutes after Ms. Nasolo taking an oath, the speaker introduced the second agenda being the voting for the new committee members and the process upon which voting should be conducted.

The speaker however, according to article 65 of the constitution, tabled two options , voting by hands and voting by secret ballot for members to select and after continue with majority vote.

The National Unity Platform with 70% members in the house started accusing each other for being spies and having been bribed possibly in favor of the NRM.

Next was chaos, scuffle , forcing the speaker to adjurn the house for 20 minutes and making a secret call to the DPC of the region to tighten security and guarantee safety for honourable councillors.

According to Hon. Luba Lwanga Charles the speaker of the house, "the role of the speaker is not to deny a councilor opportunity to speak because he or she does it on behalf of the people represented, therefore it the council in general to decide through a resolution regarding the voting."

He described that the voting can either be secret ballot or rising up of hands but the fault goes to government for failure to provide induction and rules of procedure.

To avoid blood shed, the council has been postponed by powers of the speaker in line with the KCCA guidelines until further notice.
