Hon. Enoch Barigye Byaruhanga Accelerates CEC Campaign Across Western Uganda, Promises Bold Reforms

As the race for the Central Executive Committee (CEC) position representing Western Uganda heats up, Hon. Enoch Barigye Byaruhanga has intensified his campaign, meeting National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates across various districts and cities.
His recent engagements have taken him to Mityana Municipality, Mityana District, Kassanda, Mubende, Kyenjojo, Fort Portal City, Kabarole, Ntoroko, and Bundibugyo, among others.
At every stop, Barigye has been warmly received by delegates who expressed admiration for his reform agenda and urged him to remain in the race until the final vote.
Many described him as a grounded leader who listens, inspires confidence, and speaks to the realities facing the party and the country.
Hon. Barigye’s campaign is built on a message of transformation, renewal, and integrity within the party. He is passionately advocating for the restoration of grassroots power, emphasizing the need to revive and empower village level NRM structures that have long been neglected.
He believes the future of the party lies in its ability to reconnect with ordinary members at the base.
At the core of his campaign is a commitment to end internal electoral fraud. Barigye has openly criticized the bribery, vote manipulation, and inconsistencies that have marred previous internal elections.
He proposes the adoption of digital voter registers and technology-based voting systems to improve transparency and restore faith in NRM’s internal processes.
A vocal critic of money politics, Barigye is calling for the restoration of the party’s original culture of volunteerism and ideological mobilization. He believes that loyalty and patriotism not handouts should guide participation in the party’s activities.
He is also championing the inclusion of young people and women in party leadership. By bridging the generational gap between the historical leaders and the emerging young cadres, Barigye hopes to build a more dynamic, future-oriented NRM that reflects Uganda’s youthful population.
Another key part of his agenda is ensuring equitable allocation of party resources across the Western Region. He has decried the concentration of support in select areas and is pushing for fair budgeting and inclusive planning that gives every district a voice.
Hon. Barigye has also promised to recognize and support longtime NRM mobilizers those who have served the movement for decades without recognition or reward. He believes that for the party to move forward, it must honor the sacrifices of those who built its foundation.
Throughout his campaign, Barigye continues to invoke the original mission of the NRM, rooted in patriotism, resistance to oppression, and national unity. He argues that cleaning up the party’s internal systems is not just a moral obligation it’s essential for NRM’s long-term survival and credibility.
As he continues his tour across the region, Hon. Enoch Barigye Byaruhanga’s message is resonating with many. With strong grassroots momentum and a clear vision for reform, he is emerging as a leading contender for the CEC Western Region seat promising not just to contest, but to lead with integrity and purpose.
