Muyenga turned into a hive of patriotism on September 24th, 2025, as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launched the new offices of the Patriotism Secretariat. The event, spearheaded by Commissioner Hellen Seku, was more than just a ceremony—it was a bold statement about the power of Uganda’s youth in shaping the country’s political and economic future.

Thousands of supporters, business leaders, and government officials filled the venue, where the President openly praised Commissioner Seku for her relentless drive in nurturing patriotic values across Uganda. Under her leadership, more than 200,000 Ugandans have graduated from patriotic training programs, while nearly half a million youths have tapped into patriotism courses, social initiatives, and community mobilization platforms.

Museveni described the gathering as a “meeting of Uganda’s future leaders,” noting the different categories of patriots—from course graduates and enterprise groups to single mothers and pressure-group mobilizers. He encouraged them to remain connected to the Secretariat and align with the NRM for stronger grassroots mobilisation.

In a dramatic show of loyalty ahead of the 2026 elections, supporters pledged unwavering support for Museveni’s candidacy. Communities like the Bavandimwe even surprised him with a symbolic portrait, declaring him their “official candidate.”

Meanwhile, Hellen Seku used the moment to spotlight government programs such as PDM, Emyooga, and the Youth Capital Venture Fund, applauding their impact on young Ugandans. “These initiatives are not just policies—they are lifelines, giving the youth tools to innovate, create jobs, and fight poverty,” Seku emphasized.

With leaders like Hon. Evelyn Anite, Richard Todwong, Frank Gashumba, and top business figures backing the cause, the Muyenga event wasn’t just about launching an office—it was about cementing patriotism as a political and social force heading into 2026.
