ONC Launches National Campaign Urging Ugandans to Reject Protest Votes

The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has officially launched a nationwide campaign under the banner “Say No to Protest Vote”, aimed at countering what it describes as increasing opposition propaganda ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The campaign has been unveiled on Thursday at the ONC headquarters in Kyambogo, with a central message encouraging Ugandans to reaffirm their support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Themed “Settle for M7 , M7 Is the Best. Say No to Protest Vote”, the initiative is also rooted in the belief that President Museveni remains the most reliable leader to guide the country into its next phase of transformation.
Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor and head of the ONC, while giving remarks, commended Ugandans for their unwavering support for the President since the inception of the “Jajja Tova Ku Main” campaign.
She stressed that Museveni’s leadership has been instrumental in steering Uganda towards modern economic status.
“We pleaded with our dear President not to abandon his divine mission of transforming Uganda,” she stated. “Today, we are a modern economy, and that progress is a direct result of his visionary and steadfast leadership.”
Namyalo praised President Museveni not just as a national leader, but as a mission bearer whose governance has been a cornerstone of peace, development, and regional stability. In a strong critique of the opposition,
In lengthy comments, Namyalo, accused the National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, commonly known as Bobi Wine, of misrepresenting Uganda’s progress for the benefit of foreign interests.
“You continue to malign successful government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), which is lifting millions out of poverty, while simultaneously misusing foreign-funded resources for personal indulgence,” Namyalo described.
“If I can empower the youth with tools and capital to start businesses, then surely, those who claim to represent the people should do the same.”
She also expressed gratitude to the First Lady, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, acknowledging her contribution to youth empowerment and national development. “She is a true mother of the nation. Her leadership has provided many young people with the tools to live purposeful, productive lives,” Namyalo said.
The campaign launch attracted a significant youth presence, including representatives from Kabale University, the National Youth Council, and the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation (UTOF), led by its chairperson, Mr. Rashid Ssekindi.
The ONC’s new initiative seeks to galvanize support among young Ugandans and reaffirm the continuity of leadership under President Museveni as the country prepares for the 2026 polls
