Roots Deep in Bulambuli
Born on October 20, 1987, Nandutu Jacqueline Gidumo hails from Buyaga Town Council, Bulambuli District. Her lineage stretches deep into the cultural heritage of the district: her late father was from Bumasobo, belonging to the Bawokadala clan, while her mother comes from the Basiya clan in Bulaago Sub-county. With such strong ancestral ties, she believes she is uniquely positioned to understand and champion the needs and values of the people of Bulambuli.
Nandutu is an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with a track record of professional service. She began her career in the humanitarian sector, working as a volunteer with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), where she helped communities access essential services and development programs. Her compassion and commitment to community empowerment were further honed during her time at Stanbic Bank, where she gained valuable insights into financial management and inclusive economic participation.
Her blend of technical expertise, grassroots experience, and financial literacy places her in a unique position to legislate effectively, especially on issues concerning digital inclusion, youth employment, women’s empowerment, and local economic development. In her address to the media and supporters, Nandutu emphasized the importance of authentic representation. “I have walked with the people. I have seen their struggles. I know their stories because I come from among them,” she said.
She also expressed confidence that her background as a daughter of the soil and a committed servant will resonate with the electorate.
Her campaign is expected to focus on education, healthcare access, digital literacy, youth skilling, and women’s economic empowerment, key pillars she believes are essential for the transformation of Bulambuli District.
As the NRM gears up for the party primaries, Nandutu is calling upon all constituents to rally behind her vision of a progressive and inclusive Bulambuli. “Let us unite for our future. Let us vote for a leader who understands us, who listens, and who will act. I am that leader,” she told supporters.
With the 2026 general elections drawing closer, her entry into the race adds momentum to what promises to be a dynamic and closely watched contest in Bulambuli District.
