First Lady Janet Museveni Hails Bishop Samuel Lwandasa as a Model of Faith and Servant Leadership

MUKONO, Uganda – Uganda's First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni, has paid glowing tribute to Bishop Dr. Samuel Lwandasa and his wife, Pastor Margaret Lwandasa, describing them as exemplary servants of God whose lives have become a beacon of hope, faith, and transformation for both the Church and the nation.

The First Lady's message was delivered during a grand thanksgiving service held at Mt. Lebanon Christian Centre Cathedral in Mukono Municipality to celebrate several significant milestones in the life of Bishop Lwandasa: his 60th birthday, 41 years of ministry, 34 years of pastoral service, and the Silver Jubilee marking 25 years of marriage to Pastor Margaret Lwandasa.

The message, read on her behalf by Executive Assistant Beaker Waiswa, praised the couple for their unwavering dedication to God's work and their commitment to transforming lives through ministry.

"I greet you all in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ on this memorable day, when we commemorate key milestones in the life of a spiritual father, a friend, and a significant leader in our nation," the First Lady's message stated.

She said the lives of Bishop Lwandasa and his wife exemplify Christ's call for believers to be "salt and light" in the world, noting that their ministry has impacted thousands of people across Uganda and beyond.

"By enabling us to witness a life that is truly salt and light to the world, you have demonstrated the literal meaning of Christ's call to the Church," she said, citing the biblical teaching in Matthew 18:18-20.

Hon. Janet Museveni thanked God for preserving and strengthening the couple through decades of service, emphasizing that their journey serves as an inspiration to Christians and leaders alike.

She offered prayers for renewed strength and divine guidance as they embark on a new season of ministry, drawing from Isaiah 40:31.

"I pray that you continue to be the voice we need to guide God's people, the shepherd we trust, and the model of Christ-likeness we follow. My prayer for both of you is that the Lord renews your strength like the eagle's, that you will run and not grow weary and you will walk and not be faint," she said.

The First Lady also extended personal congratulations to the couple and thanked Bishop Lwandasa for his friendship and contribution to both her family and the nation.

"May your marriage and ministry continue to be a true witness of the love of Christ to many, and may generations continue to be blessed by your leadership. The Lord you serve is faithful," she added.

In her message, Hon. Janet Museveni painted a vivid picture of Bishop Lwandasa's remarkable journey in ministry, highlighting his role in planting churches, mentoring young people, supporting orphans and widows, and reaching unreached communities through sacrificial service and prayer.

"Your impact cannot be measured by numbers alone—it is written in the transformed lives we see around us today," she noted.

The First Lady also paid tribute to Pastor Margaret Lwandasa, commending her steadfast support and partnership in ministry.

"Your wife, Mama Margaret, has stood faithfully beside you, a woman of strength, prayer, and grace. Together, you have modeled what a Christ-centered marriage and ministry look like," she said.

The thanksgiving celebration also received a message from Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, Odrek Rwabwogo, who served as the chief guest. His remarks were delivered by the Head of Training, Production and Public Outreaches, Francis Kagonyera.

Rwabwogo described Bishop Lwandasa as a diligent and visionary shepherd whose success has been built on his commitment to adding value to people's lives.

He urged Ugandans to emulate the Bishop's example by becoming useful, purpose-driven, morally upright, and hardworking citizens.

He further called upon leaders across the country to prioritize the improvement of the education sector, create a more enabling business environment, and work toward raising national standards in all sectors.

In their response, Bishop Dr. Samuel Lwandasa and Pastor Margaret expressed profound gratitude to God, attributing every achievement and milestone to divine grace and God's unfailing faithfulness.
