Apostle Grace Lubega Weds 46 Couples in Shs 500m First Ever Phaneroo Boutique Wedding
Apostle Grace Lubega, the lead pastor of Phaneroo Ministries International, has emphasized that the true foundation of marriage lies in Christ, not in lavish spending or societal pressure.
He made the remarks on Friday at Phaneroo Grounds in Naguru during the ministry’s first-ever Boutique Wedding, where 46 couples were beautifully joined in holy matrimony in a colorful and spirit-filled ceremony.
Each couple was accompanied by parents, relatives, and friends, with a maximum of 10 invited guests per couple, creating an intimate and elegant celebration of love.
Apostle Lubega explained that the initiative was designed to restore the biblical meaning of marriage and give believers an opportunity to start afresh in righteousness.
“Some couples had been living together and wanted to repent of that act,” he said. “Others were held back by financial challenges, but they chose to honor God and do the right thing.”
He stressed that Phaneroo’s Boutique Wedding was not meant to appear cheap but to honor marriage in dignity and beauty.
“Mass weddings are not supposed to humiliate people,” he noted. “That’s why Phaneroo invested heavily to show that even if 46 couples wed at once, it can still be beautiful. An expensive wedding does not guarantee that a marriage will last.”
Apostle Lubega revealed that the ceremony cost over Shs 500 million, largely funded by the church, with support from ministry partners who shared in the vision.
“There’s no scripture that refuses a man to get married if he can take care of his home,” he added. “Unfortunately, many weddings today are built on social pressure rather than God’s Word.”
He also outlined three key pillars that sustain a lasting Christian marriage which included, a shared and active Christ-centered vision, a shared altar, sacrificial love, and mutual submission (Ephesians 5:22) and also honest communication and forgiveness.
Apostle Lubega concluded by encouraging believers not to postpone marriage because of financial constraints. “Marriage is not about the budget it’s about the covenant,” he said.
