Ntungamo District – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) Member and Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda, Hon. Eng. Jonard Asiimwe, has continued his grassroots engagement with NRM leaders in Ntungamo District, calling for unity, reconciliation, and collective commitment to the party’s mission of transforming Uganda.

During the meeting, Hon. Asiimwe emphasized that his ongoing engagements across the western region are part of a broader initiative to build bridges, heal divisions, and strengthen relationships among party leaders and members. He noted that the NRM’s success over the years has been anchored on internal harmony and shared purpose, urging all leaders to prioritize cooperation and reconciliation over individual differences.

“These interactions are not just about political coordination; they are about restoring trust, strengthening unity, and ensuring that every leader plays an active role in shaping our shared vision,” Hon. Asiimwe remarked.

He commended the NRM leaders in Ntungamo for their commitment and loyalty to the party and its Chairman, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, under whose stewardship Uganda continues to enjoy peace, stability, and sustained development.

“When we work together, we achieve a lot for our party, our Chairman, and the country we all cherish. That spirit of cooperation is what has kept the NRM strong and Uganda steadily progressing under the able leadership of President Museveni,” he said.

The Vice Chairperson stressed that the NRM’s greatest asset lies in its unity and the ability of its leaders to harmonize efforts toward common goals. He reminded members that reconciliation is not a sign of weakness but a demonstration of maturity and responsibility in leadership.

“Our task now is to protect the gains we have made — the peace, stability, and development that define our nation. Through reconciliation, harmonization, and cohesion, we can preserve what has been built and prepare for even greater achievements ahead,” he added.

Hon. Asiimwe further called upon local leaders to lead by example, foster inclusiveness, and promote dialogue at all levels of the party structure, saying that unity is the engine that drives transformation. He urged them to remain focused on service delivery, mobilization, and support for ongoing government programs aimed at improving the livelihoods of Ugandans.

As the NRM gears up for future political engagements, Hon. Asiimwe’s message resonates with the broader party strategy of revitalizing its structures, reconnecting with the grassroots, and ensuring that the Movement remains a people-centered organization.

“Unity is not just a slogan; it is the foundation upon which transformation is built. Together, we move Uganda forward,” Hon. Asiimwe concluded.

The meeting in Ntungamo is part of his continued regional mobilization efforts to strengthen internal cohesion, uphold the legacy of the NRM, and prepare the region for the next phase of Uganda’s socio-economic transformation under the Movement’s visionary leadership.
