President Museveni Urges Kibuku Residents to Embrace Peace and Wealth Creation for Uganda’s Transformation
Speaking to a large crowd during his campaign rally in Kibuku District, President Museveni reminded residents that the transformation of Uganda rests not only on what government delivers, but also on how citizens take advantage of existing opportunities to generate wealth within their homes.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged Ugandans to embrace unity and productivity as the foundation of Uganda’s continued transformation, emphasizing that peace, infrastructure development, and household wealth creation are the cornerstones of the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) vision for national prosperity.
Speaking to a large crowd during his campaign rally in Kibuku District, President Museveni reminded residents that the transformation of Uganda rests not only on what government delivers, but also on how citizens take advantage of existing opportunities to generate wealth within their homes.
“We had a very good rally today in Kibuku District. I reminded our people that the transformation of Uganda depends on unity, with the government building infrastructure and the citizens creating wealth in their homes,” President Museveni said.
The Head of State noted that the NRM’s most significant contribution to Uganda since taking power has been the restoration and preservation of peace — a foundation that has enabled the country to make great strides in development.
“The NRM’s first gift to Uganda has been peace. Because of peace, we have defeated cattle rustling and other conflicts, and that stability has enabled us to build roads, electricity, schools, and hospitals,” he said.
He explained that the end of cattle rustling in the eastern region, including Kibuku and neighbouring districts, was a testament to the government’s success in establishing security and law enforcement. The President added that this stability must now translate into economic empowerment through productive household enterprises.
“Development alone is not enough,” he emphasized. “Every family must enter the field of wealth creation.”
Museveni reiterated that government investments in infrastructure — such as roads, electricity, and schools — are deliberate efforts to create an enabling environment for citizens to thrive. He outlined ongoing efforts to upgrade health centres in the district, including Nabiswa, Kituti, and Nakodo, from Health Centre II to Health Centre III status. These upgrades are expected to bring improved medical services closer to the people of Kibuku.
The President also underscored the importance of free education as a tool for empowering young Ugandans to participate in the modern economy. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening Universal Primary and Secondary Education, ensuring that every child has access to learning opportunities regardless of their background.
“Jobs come from wealth — from the individual, the family, and the company,” he said. “That is how Uganda will continue to move forward steadily and peacefully.”
President Museveni called on the people of Kibuku to sustain the peace that the NRM government has secured by focusing on enterprise development in sectors such as commercial agriculture, value addition, and small-scale manufacturing. He encouraged youth and women groups to take advantage of existing government programs, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), to lift themselves out of subsistence living.
The rally in Kibuku is part of President Museveni’s ongoing campaign trail across the Bukedi sub-region, where he is presenting the NRM Manifesto for 2026–2031. The manifesto emphasizes continued investment in infrastructure, agro-industrialization, and human capital development — key drivers for achieving Uganda’s Vision 2040 and transforming the country into a modern, self-sustaining economy.
As his campaign team continues to mobilize support, the President’s message remains clear: peace and unity are the bedrock of development, but prosperity will come when every Ugandan household becomes a center of production and wealth creation.
