Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda Earns Top Employer 2026 Recognition in CCBA Africa-Wide Milestone
The certification places CCBU among an elite group of employers recognised for outstanding human resource practices, joining six other countries within the CCBA footprint that have attained the same status.
Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), has been recognised as a Top Employer for 2026 by the globally respected Top Employers Institute, marking another milestone in the company’s commitment to excellence in people management and workplace culture.
The certification places CCBU among an elite group of employers recognised for outstanding human resource practices, joining six other countries within the CCBA footprint that have attained the same status. At the continental level, CCBA has also been certified as a Top Employer in Africa for 2026, reinforcing its position as one of the leading people-centric organisations on the continent.
Second Consecutive Regional Recognition
This recognition marks the second consecutive year that CCBA has secured regional-level Top Employer certification in Africa. In addition, CCBA’s operations in Uganda, Ethiopia, South Africa and Tanzania have once again achieved country-level certification, with all four recording improved performance scores compared to the previous year—an indication of continuous investment in people and workplace systems.
The 2026 certification cycle also represents a significant expansion of CCBA’s footprint in the Top Employer programme, with Botswana, Kenya and Mozambique achieving certification for the first time. This underscores CCBA’s consistent approach to embedding high-quality HR practices across all its markets.
Global Benchmark for HR Excellence
The Top Employers Institute, which operates in 125 countries and regions worldwide, is recognised as the global authority in HR certification, benchmarking and advisory services. Organisations are assessed through a rigorous HR Best Practices Survey, which evaluates performance across six key domains: People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and Wellbeing.
Certification is awarded only to organisations that demonstrate robust, forward-looking people practices that support employee growth, inclusion and sustainable business performance.
Commenting on the achievement, Emmy Hashakimana, Managing Director of Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, said the certification reflects the company’s deep commitment to nurturing talent and building an enabling work environment.
“This certification demonstrates our commitment to unparalleled professional growth for our people, providing an exciting journey of learning and development within a passionate, caring team,” Hashakimana said.
She noted that CCBU’s success is anchored in its people-first culture, which balances strong business performance with positive community impact.
“We thrive on delivering beloved Coke brands, making a positive impact on communities, and achieving market success together. We invest in our people to foster an inclusive and thriving workplace that accelerates our growth,” she added.
Hashakimana further emphasised CCBA’s philosophy of empowerment and ownership in career development.
“At CCBA, we don’t hand you a role; we create an opportunity, give you the tools and we challenge you to build a career—to make it yours.”
Setting the Pace for Employers in Uganda and Beyond
For Uganda, the recognition positions CCBU as one of the leading employers setting benchmarks in talent development, employee wellbeing and inclusive workplace practices. Regionally, CCBA’s growing list of certified operations highlights a deliberate strategy to standardise excellence in people management across Africa.
As organisations increasingly compete for skilled talent, CCBA’s consistent performance in the Top Employers Institute programme signals a strong employer value proposition—one that prioritises learning, diversity and long-term career growth while driving business success.
The 2026 Top Employer certification not only affirms CCBU’s achievements to date but also reinforces CCBA’s ambition to remain an employer of choice across Africa’s dynamic and evolving labour markets.
